Cannot Download Whole eBook
I want to read the entire eBook offline, but the download button is missing / cannot be selected / has no effect.
Answer
Sometimes, there is a limit to the number of people that can access an eBook at the same time. When three or fewer people can use a book at the same time, we have disabled the whole book download option. (Downloading a book takes up one of those seats for the entire download period, even when the downloader is not actively using the book.)
To access the entire book, you have a few options:
- You can use the library’s link to read the book online instead of downloading it.
- You can use the library’s link to download the book in chunks. For example, you can download a single chapter instead of the whole book. Or, you may be able to copy a certain number of pages.
- The exact amount you can download or print depends on the publisher's agreement with the company that provides the e-book to us.
- The limits may reset after a certain amount of time. It depends on the publisher, the vendor, and how MCPHS accesses the book.
- The content you download is only for your own personal educational use.
- If you are a faculty member, you may be able to request an instructor's copy or a review copy directly from the publisher.
